Project management is a constantly growing industry and one that university students now have the ability to achieve chartered status in. Nottingham Trent University in the UK has become the first university in the world to achieve Recognized Assessment to Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status. Achieving chartered status for the APM puts the Project Management profession on an equal footing with Engineers, Architects and Accountants who are also vital to so many projects. It will also be great for the professionalism of Project Management, as it will result in Project Managers becoming more valued and assured in their work. Instead, we will adopt a new ‘strapline’ which encompasses our new status, this will feature on our website, emails and printed materials so that it is clear we are a Chartered body.
